To gauge your tip for proper dome and tip replacement, place the cues tip into the recess on the side of the cue and rotate slowly. If all of the tips surface touches the gauge you have an appropriately domed tip.
Use tip gauge by putting the turtle tappera at a perpendicular angle to the cue. Press the tip firmly against the turtle tapper and rotate the turtle taper 4 or 5 times in opposite directions.
